A very favorite of Grace’s, BORN TO RUN is simply our finest gold-edged red to date. Large, flat and bright with over-square pansy shaped petals BORN TO RUN is “born to run” with the best. First blooms on BORN TO RUN are often a completely red self with a prominent gold edge on both petals and sepals. As the flower continues to bloom a light watermark appears above the citron green throat which accentuates the “pansy-like” pattern created by the over square petals and flat face. An amazing flower BORN TO RUN is a breakthrough in edging in reds and an incredible parent for gold edged reds. Moreover, one of the most endearing qualities of the flower, the pansy shape, is easily passed on to its seedlings. A superb flower and one of our most exciting daylilies to date. Fertile both ways.
