* 'Landon Lee' -- (Catchier In The Eye x Rippled Oasis) Sev. 6” fl. 30” sc. M 20 buds. Landon Lee is one of the most striking patterned flowers in my garden. The iridescent applique throat forms a shocking contrast to the dark, bold purple patterned eye. The petal edges lift in the throat area, displaying the dramatically mimicked applique and purple pattern on the sepals. Adding to the overall complexity of the flower is a matching dark purple picotee edge surrounded by a ruffled gold edge, typically with gold hooks and horns. Richard Taylor, my good friend and garden helper/advisor from Indianapolis, chose this striking flower to be named for his friend’s young son.
