Visions of Destiny (Petit Fall 2012) 2Fan

Visions of Destiny
(Petit Fall 2012)
(Zahadoom x Blue Dragon) Sev. 5" fl. 32" sc. M. 15-20 buds. Good rust resistance. Fertile both ways. When I first saw Jamie Gossard's Blue Dragon (a cross of Tet. In The Navy x Tet. Crystal Blue Persuasion), it was the bluest eyed daylily I had ever seen. Jamie was kind enough to allow me to use Blue Dragon before it was introduced. I crossed it with Zahadoom in an attempt to enhance the blue pattern in the eye of Zahadoom, and increase the flower size and complexity of Blue Dragon. I was delighted at the kids, and Visions of Destiny is the best of the cross and the only one I will introduce. The self color of Visions of Destiny is a soft violet to lavender pink, with a deep green throat. The blooms carry an intriguing eye made up of several different colors, including deep purple, blue violet, charcoal, and aqua marine. The exact colors of the eye vary across days and the bloom season, but it is always an exquisite beauty. The colors of the multiple patterned eye are repeated on the sepals, and also continue as a multiple colored picotee edge of blue violet and purple, surrounding and accenting the gently ruffled petals. Exquisite and unusual.
